Care should always be taken when sucking on a throat lozenge such as our Fontus™ Green Apple Throat Lozenges; accidental choking or swallowing is always a possibility when sucking on any lozenge or candy, especially when engaged in another activity.
Two incidents involving the accidental swallowing of a Fontus™ lozenge have been reported and in each instance, the lozenge slid down the throat causing some minor discomfort until the lozenge dissolved.
In this context, in as much as a number of our customers are vocalists who report that they have made a practice of using Fontus™ lozenges while singing and performing, we should be alert to the fact that abnormally deep and sudden breaths are common when performing. CONSEQUENTLY, Fontus™ does not recommend use of its lozenges during a performance.
Whether you are a performer, public speaker or dry mouth/throat sufferer, as with all lozenges, remain aware that you have a foreign object in the mouth and be cautious.
